What is Good Neighbours?
Good Neighbours is a community initiative by Hands of Hope, a local community organization with a passion to invest in the surrounding community in central south Brisbane. We operate a number of initiatives including the well-known Christmas4Kids (now known as Christmas Fest) which enjoys the support of Brisbane City Council and was awarded the Lord Mayors Community Event of the Year in 2006!
What are the Benefits of Good Neighbours?
Increased social interactions which helps to improve general well-being.
Increased community support when neighbours lend a hand.
Improved security knowing that neighbours will have each other’s back.
Improved neighborhood home values due to positive vibes within the community.
Improved acceptance such as diversity of race, culture, lifestyles etc.
Improved awareness of local services available.
How YOU can make a difference.
The key to Good Neighbours are “Street Connectors” – volunteer residents with a heart to build relationships with people in the neighbourhood.

How Good Neighbours Has Made a Difference
“The intent of this project to nurture good neighbourly relations within the entire neighbour is commendable and aligns with the Council’s vision in creating and maintaining strong and diverse communities.”
