Why are Street Connectors Important?
Building relationships with those around us is the first step into creating and maintaining strong and diverse communities. Here is where “Street Connectors” are crucial!
YOU are key to making this possible – you can welcome newcomers in and to the area, support those along your street(s), encourage connections through activities that you or your neighbour(s) would like to host.
Responsibilities
- Welcome neighbours along your streets and connect them with others within the area.
- Encourage other informal relationship building activities amongst neighbours along your streets.
- Facilitate proposals of street activities that helps with the above.
- Provide feedback to Good Neighbours on how to better facilitate neighbourliness.
- Connect neighbours to the Good Neighbours newsletter for helpful updates on what’s happening, and useful articles for building a stronger neighbourhood together.
Requirements
- Desire to build the neighbourhood.
- Be able to commit for a minimum of 12 months.
- Living within the Stockland Pallara development area.
- Above 18 years old
- Hold a Working with Children Check (Blue Card) – you are likely to work with people from various age groups (blue card application is FREE).
- Commit to facilitate at least 1 annual street gathering
- Commit to attend at least 1 Good Neighbours Connectors meeting annually (usually 2 meetings a year).
- Commit to writing a simple half page annual report on activities.
