Donations


1. What will happen to the details I give online?

Hands of Hope will ensure that your details are kept secured for our purposes only. It will not be shared or disseminated in any way. Your privacy will be maintained.


2. What is the difference between regular giving and one-off donation?

A one-off donation is a single monetary gift made towards Hands of Hope at any time during the year. Becoming a regular giver allows you to commit to recurring payments through Paypal. You can opt to cancel your recurring payments at anytime by simply contacting us on 3371 5008 or enquiries@handsofhope.org.au. Please note that any payments over $25 are tax deductable.


3. How much should I donate?

Donations of any amount are welcome. Please note that donations $25 and above are tax deductable.


4. Who do I need to contact if I want to change the donations I make on the web/with a credit card?

Please contact our office at enquiries@handsofhope.org.au and we will update the changes of your donation and send you an e-mail to confirm the requested changes.


5. What happens when I purchase present vouchers? Do I get some vouchers sent to me?

When you purchase present vouchers, the proceeds will be used by the Christmas 4 Kids team to help Santa buy enough presents for all the children who attend Christmas 4 Kids. You will receive a confirmation email to thank you for your purchase (don't worry - you won't get any junk mail sent to you!)


6. Is the purchase of presents/donations tax deductable?

Yes, donations of $25 and above are tax deductable.


7. When will I receive my Tax Receipt after I have donated?

When you make a donation, you will be asked if you would like a tax receipt. If you select this option, and if your donation is $25 and above, you will be emailed a tax receipt shortly after the event.


8. What are the payment method options?

There are two ways you can donate to Hands of Hope. Either via bank deposit or via Paypal (secure credit card payments)


Sponsorship


1. My organization/business is considering sponsoring the event, how should we go about that?

There are several ways that your organization/business can partner with Hands of Hope Please take a look at the 5 ways you can help page for information about how you can partner with us to reach the community.

Volunteer at Hands of Hope


1. What happens when I register as volunteer for Hands of Hope?

By registering as a volunteer for Hands of Hope, you are automatically added to our volunteer database for any future Hands of Hope event. You may be contacted in future regarding your availability to volunteer in those programs or events.


If you wish to volunteer specifically at Christmas 4 Kids, please indicate this on the application form.


2. How much time will I need to commit?

We respect that most of our volunteers work full-time or are full-time students who just have a desire to give back to their community, so we offer the several options of time commitment in order to suit their lifestyle and other commitments in their lives. Options vary from a few hours per day to once a month, or just simply volunteering on an event day.


3. Am I eligible to be a volunteer for Hands of Hope?

Anyone over the age of 15 years old is eligible to be a volunteer with Hands of Hope. You are required to complete the online application to register yourself as a volunteer.


If you are 18 years and over, you are required to apply for a Suitability Check Blue Card (or be a current holder of one)


Our volunteers come from all walks of life and are of all ages from 18 to 60 years old.


4. What skills do I need to be a Hands of Hope volunteer?

There are no specialist skills required to be a volunteer of Hands of Hope, just a genuine desire to make a difference in your community.


If you have skills and abilities that you may be able to bring to your volunteering, please indicate on the online application form.


5. Am I required to undergo any legal checks?

As Hands of Hope is largely involved with children and families, all our volunteers 18 years old and over are required to hold a current Blue Card Suitability Check.


If you would like to apply for a Blue Card through Hands of Hope, please email volunteer@handsofhope.org.au to let us know so that we help you with your application

6. Will I receive any training?

If you are involved in an upcoming event (e.g. Christmas 4 Kids) and have been allocated a specific role within the event, you will be informed about upcoming trainings relevant to you.

8. What positions can I volunteer for?

Blue Cards


1. How do I apply for a Blue Card?

If you are 18 years and older, you are required to have a Blue Card to be eligible to volunteer for Christmas 4 Kids. For more details please visit to the Commission for Children and Young People and Child Guardian website


a) Download a VOLUNTEER form by clicking here.

b) Print and fill out the form.

c) If you would like to apply for a Blue Card through Hands of Hope, send us an email at volunteer@handsofhope.org.au to so that we can help you with your application.
